The first week of January started out great, leads where coming in, appointments where made, and estimates where sent out.

In response the estimates where not within the customers budget. I understand how difficult it can be finding the right contractor that’s within the budget.

Paper, Plastic, or Re-usable?

The global battle against plastic has taken a draconian turn with officials in Delhi announcing that the penalty for carrying a polythene shopping bag would be five years in prison.

Officials in India's capital have decided that the only way to stem the rising tide of rubbish is to outlaw the plastic shopping bag. According to the official note on Friday, the "use, storage and sale" of plastic bags of any kind or thickness will be banned.

1. Study up — Find out about license and insurance requirements for contractors in your state. And before you call a contractor, know the model of your current system and its maintenance history. Also make note of any uncomfortable rooms. This will help potential contractors better understand your heating needs.

2. Ask for referrals — Ask friends, neighbors, and co-workers for contractor referrals. You can also contact local trade organizations for names of members in your area.

The Contractors State License Board are doing the best they can. Report non-license individuals to www.cslb.ca.gov and help protect your home. The CSLB has email alerts you can sign up for.
